It was one of the best performances of his career – and he sealed it with the match-winning try.
Cronulla prop Andrew Fifita was among the Sharks’ best on Sunday night against Melbourne.
And it was the moment of the match when, with 11 minutes remaining and the Sharks trailing by four points, the giant forward charged to the line, carrying five Storm defenders with him as he crashed under the posts.
Speaking to the Sharks’ faithful back at Southern Cross Group Stadium in the early hours of Monday morning, the NSW and Australian representative said the grand final victory was the highlight of his career.
“This is the top, to be honest,” he said.
“The first time in history that the Cronulla Sharks have won the comp. You couldn’t ask for a better squad than this.
“They all deserve this win tonight.”
