Energy efficient building company Green Homes Australia (GHA) Wagga Wagga focuses on helping buyers build homes that use less energy and save their owners money before, during and after construction.
GHA is the only certified green builder in Australia.

The secret to building quality energy efficient homes is working with the customer to ensure the home will suit the climate, block, lifestyle and budget during the design and construction process.
The practical benefits of an efficient home include:
- lower energy costs
- year-round comfort
- a sustainable, practical and affordable build
- better standards leading to better homes
GHA Wagga Wagga owner Daniel Davey said buyers can pick an existing design plan out of a range available, or work with GHA designers to custom-build their new home.
“We have a few house and land packages at Brunslea Park,” Daniel said.
“We can custom design or there are 40 plans on the website. But even if you choose one of the designs off the website, it will be designed specifically to suit the block.”
That is because the first and main consideration when it comes to efficient design is orientation.
“It is how you position the house on the block to make the most of the sun in winter and keep it off the living areas in summertime,” Daniel said.
GHA first started in Orange and was founded by builder Mick Fabar.
Mick believes that spending lots of money doesn’t guarantee the most efficient home. Instead, it is about intelligent design and selection of building materials, fittings and appliances.
“(Mick) piloted the green house concept,” Daniel said.
“He spent a lot of money and time on research and wrote books and training manuals, and ended up franchising the company when it got too big.”
