A day of free fun for the whole family will support a school with a 60 year history on November 6 this year.
Jannali East Public School is hosting a spring fete to celebrate its anniversary.
The school will launch its 60th anniversary cookbook, which combines historic school photos of the past and present, plus recipes submitted by families of the school community. It can be purchased on the day.
There will be cake and lolly stalls, rides, books for sale, an animal farm, and entertaining performances.
Funds raised will go towards the expansion of the school’s playground to accommodate growing enrolments.
The event is also an opportunity for former pupils to get together and share their nostalgic past from the old school days.
There to join the party will be ex-principal Richard Morey and former pupil Pam Gray (nee Dodd), whose memories include countless cricket and netball games, and drinking from the school hose on hot summer days.
For pupils who attended from the 1950s-60s, the reunion begins at 10.30am.
For those from the 1970s-80s, the reunion starts at 11.30am, and from 1.30pm for former students who were at the school from the 1990s onwards.
Wristbands for rides will be available on the day.
The fete is on from 10am-3pm at 500 Box Road, Jannali.
