Rockdale City have announced a coup for the club, with former Sydney FC star Christopher Naumoff to start his coaching career with the Suns next season.
Naumoff, a Sutherland Sharks junior, will take control of Rockdale’s under-15s side.
The 21-year-old joined Spanish second division side Numancia in June but a medical examination diagnosed Naumoff with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, forcing him to announce his retirement from football in July.
Naumoff joined Sydney FC’s youth team from Sutherland in 2011 after winning the under-20s championship where he was named under-20s player of the year.
Naumoff made his A-League debut against Newcastle in round one of the 2013-14 season and went on to make 44 appearances for the Sky Blues, as well as winning 10 caps for the Australia under-20s team and four for the under-23s.
