St George Illawarra forward Tyson Frizell continued the impressive form that saw him earn State of Origin selection this season with a strong display for Australia on Saturday night.
The Kangaroos downed New Zealand 26-6 in Perth in a warm up for the Four Nations tournament, starting in the UK later this month.
Frizell, who was consistently one of the Dragons’ best in a disappointing season for the club, was strong off the bench for Australia and will surely be in coach Mal Meninga’s plans for the Four Nations.
Frizell made his debut alongside Dragons teammate Josh Dugan, who played in the centres, and against another St George Illawarra teammate in Jason Nightingale.
The game was Nightingale’s 30th career appearance for New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the Dragons are expected to announce the signing of Paul Vaughan from Canberra this week after the Raiders prop accepted a three-year deal.
