Recent rain has caused a headache for Kogarah Library.
On Monday, library patrons were greeted with at least seven black buckets which were collecting water which had come through gaps in the foyer roof.
Some buckets were left just centimeters from the art exhibition ‘A Sense of Place’ by the St George Christian School which adorns half of the foyer.
Most were left underneath the intricate solar panels that make up most of the foyer roof.
A library visitor who was there on Monday said it wasn’t a one off and that water regularly came through the roof during storms.
A Georges River Council spokesman said they were investigating the cause of the leak.
‘’Due to the complexities of the roof’s design, the roof has proved to not be fully weatherproof and may potentially need to be replaced,’’ he said.
‘’The cost of fixing or replacing the roof cannot be estimated until after the investigation is completed and the extent of repair works is known.’’
