Sutherland’s Shire’s biggest spring event, the 2016 Gymea Fair is returning bigger and better than ever, on Sunday, October 30.
Last year’s fair attracted between 45,000 to 50,000 people and organisers are expected even more to attend this year.
The fair is organised by the Gymea Chamber of Commerce to show the best of Gymea business and community offerings.
There will be more than 195 stalls lining the length of Gymea Bay Road from The Kingsway to President Avenue and selling everything from food, fashion, handbags, homewares, jewellery, skincare, candles, toys, arts and crafts, wine, flowers, Christmas cakes and preserves.
The multicultural food offers range from Mexican to Turkish and there will be more stalls behind the Gymea Hotel with gourmet food trucks, wine merchants, outdoor bars and beer caravans.
The main stage will be a showcase of local talent with bands, dance groups, kid shows and a fashion parade.
The entertainment starts at 9.30am with the Kirrawee High School Band followed by the Get Wild Reptile Show, Jacqui Alexander Singing School, High Kick Dance, Harem Skarem, YellowKat Children’s Show, Sutherland Shire Twirling Academy, Kareela Public School Ukulele Band, Danebank Infants and Seniors Choirs, Xirt Dance Academy and Gymea Technology High School Band.
“There will be a lot of schools and community events on stage so there will be many parents and grandparents enjoying the day,” organiser Cathy Asimus said.
