Growing demand from primary schools and parents for healthy eating education at school has prompted an expansion of a free Cancer Council NSW nutrition program.
The Eat It To Beat It program delivers free sessions and workshops in primary schools to show parents how to pack a healthy lunchbox and incorporate more fruit and vegetables in the family diet to reduce cancer risk.
Following a successful pilot in Sydney, the program is expanding throughout the metropolitan Sydney region.
It is due to deliver at least 50 free healthy lunchbox sessions to more than 2580 families during term four kindergarten orientations.
These sessions will reach more than 10 schools and nearly 700 families in St George and Sutherland Shire.
