Robyn Kinsela has won the 2016 St George Art Prize for her piece Vietnam veterans' visible silence.
The winners were announced last week during a special event at the Hurstville Museum and Gallery.
The competition received a record number of entries with over 250 artists from across Australia entering in the painting, 3D and youth categories.
The pieces were judged by curator Owen Craven, art gallery director Stella Downer and artist and lecturer Jeannette Siebols.
Oscar Wang won the St George Local Youth Prize Primary category while Kelly Su won the St George Local Youth Prize Secondary.
The St George 3D Art Prize was won by Erica Izard for the physics of rain.
Georges River Council Administrator Mr John Rayner announced the winners.
“I congratulate all the entrants and finalists on the exceptional quality of their work,’’ he said.
“This event celebrates the achievements of the participants while also acknowledging the great diversity of arts and cultural life in the St George region.’’
All the finalists’ work will be displayed at the Hurstville Museum & Gallery until December 15.
