A new hair dressing store in Cronulla has commissioned a large mural on its shop wall, celebrating the Sharks’ first NRL title.
Well-known local artist Joel Moore, also known as Mulga, painted the mural at the Hair Shed in Cronulla soon after the Sharks’ grand final triumph.
Moore named the painting Shark Beard Shane, after Sharks coach Shane Flanagan.
“It took me two days to paint on the Friday and Saturday after the grand final win,” he said.
He explained the bearded man featured a cool-looking haircut, to represent the shop, and was named after coach Flanagan. He said the two sharks in the photo represented Paul Gallen and Andrew Fifita.
Head Shed owner Gina Vlahos said they had only been open two weeks and had received loads of good feedback about the painting, next to the shop entrance.
“Heaps of people have noticed it … and we take pretty much all of our photos in front of it.”
The Head Shed is located on Gerrale St.
