It was a game to remember for Cronulla and St George Illawarra players representing Australia in the Kangaroos’ thrashing of Scotland in their Four Nations opener.
Australia ran out 54-12 winners in Hull, England on Saturday morning (AEDT) with Dragons pair Josh Dugan and Tyson Frizell – who was again among the Kangaroos’ best – both scoring tries in the rout.
Cronulla’s premiership-winning five-eighth James Maloney had an outstanding international debut, scoring a try and kicking seven goals against the tournament minnows.
The news wasn’t all good though, with Dugan forced off after a nasty head clash with Scotland’s Luke Douglas midway through the second half.
Sharks winger Valentine Holmes is likely to come into the side for the clash against New Zealand at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Sunday morning (AEDT).
