Flower tributes have been placed at the Caringbah intersection where Danielle McGrath, 26, was fatally hit by a truck yesterday.
“Your bright, joyful, happy face will be missed so much by all who knew you,” read one message.
Another read: “Rest in Peace Danielle. You brought a smile to everyone’s face who was fortunate to know you”.
Ms McGrath, who was from Illawong and attended Menai High School, had been living at Caringbah.
She was walking to the station on her way to work when she was hit on a pedestrian crossing.
Police said she was walking with a green light, and the truck driver has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death.
Her distraught partner reached the accident scene soon after.

Nine News has named the woman killed in a fatal accident at Caringbah as Danielle McGrath.
It’s believed Ms McGrath was crossing The Kingsway on the way to Caringbah station when she was hit.
Miranda Police Inspector Gary Ford said she was crossing on a green pedestrian sign when she was hit.

Residents and business owners say the Caringbah intersection, where a woman pedestrian was killed by a truck towing a trailer, is known to be extremely dangerous.
The woman, 26, is believed to have have been walking to the train station when the accident happened.
She was on a pedestrian crossing on Kingsway, at the corner of Port Hacking Road South, when she was hit by an earthmoving truck with a dog trailer, which was turning right towards Cronulla.
Peter Kiss, the franchisee of financial services firm, Aussie Kingsway, said, as a motorist, he found the intersection “very challenging”.
Mr Kiss said right-turning traffic from Port Hacking Road South shared one lane with traffic going straight ahead, while two lanes turned left.
“It can get very confusing with traffic going in all directions”, he said.
Cathy Alafaci, who works at Centre Court Hairdressing, said drivers were “so inpatient” with pedestrians using the crossing.
Resident Lois Frapa described the intersection as “a nightmare” because of the way vehicles “swing around the corner”.
Another resident said she had just crossed the intersection, and three cars had come through on orange and red lights.
School student Lily said, “They don’t give you enough time to cross”.

An Illawong man, 59, has been charged after a woman was hit and killed at Caringbah this morning.
It’s believed that the Illawong woman, 26, was crossing the road at The Kingsway when she was hit by the prime mover.
The truck driver was taken to Miranda police station and changed with dangerous driving occasioning death.
He was granted bail and will next appear in Sutherland Local Court on December 8.

Shire residents have raised concerns about why it took so long for the body of a woman to be removed from the scene after she was hit and killed by a truck.
Emergency services were called to The Kingsway near Port Hacking Road at 7.40am after the woman was hit by a prime mover.
She died at the scene.
Wes Owsnett was travelling along The Kingsway at 9.45am, more than two hours after the accident.
He said he was shocked to see woman’s body left on the road with only a white sheet to cover her.
‘’I thought what a despicable thing that someone is left on the road after more than an hour,’’ he said.
‘’It shouldn’t happen in Australia and especially in a place like the Shire.’’
He said that stretch of road was notoriously dangerous.
‘’It can be a confusing intersection so you have to be extra cautious,’’ he said.
‘’It is just getting worse. It’s just an accident waiting to happen.’’
Update:
An Illawong woman, 26, has been killed by a prime mover while crossing The Kingsway at Caringbah on Tuesday morning.
She died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
The driver of the prime mover, a Illawong man, 59, was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory blood and urine analysis.
Police from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

There are delays on the Kingsway at Caringbah this morning after a truck and pedestrian accident.
Emergency services were called around 8am to the Kingsway near Port Hacking Road.
The female pedestrian is reported to be in a critical condition.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted into Taren Point Road and then onto Captain Cook Drive.
Southbound traffic at Taren Point Road is also being diverted to Captain Cook Drive.
Bus routes are also being diverted and passengers can expected up to 30 minutes delays.
Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.
