It’s not often school friends maintain contact throughout their adult lives but one group of shire women have remained besties since infants school.
Carole Burnell (nee Browne), Susan Kidd (nee Andries), Barbara Oliver (nee Bamford), Ronda Potter (nee Anderson) and Colleen Woodbury (nee Blewitt) all recently celebrated their respective 70th birthdays by enjoying a weekend together at a Blue Mountains Resort.
The ladies have been best friends for more than 60 years and have always kept in touch with each other.
They all grew up in the Sutherland Shire, where they all attended the Sutherland Infants and Primary Schools and Jannali Girls High School.
After school they continued on to Gymea Technical College.
Two of the ladies were born in the same hospital within days of each other - little wonder then they have remained so close.
