The ninth annual IMB Bank Cook Community Classic carnival established by Federal Treasurer and Cook MP Scott Morrison was held at Cronulla beach on Sunday concluding with the “Bate Bay Battle” between the four surf clubs.
Cronulla iron man Mark Simpson and surf swimmer Emma Southwell then went on to win both the 1km and 2km swimming events – double gold for Cronulla.
Entertainment in the park included Ettinghausen’s dance troupe, Kirrawee High School band and a Ronald McDonald Magic Show.
Cronulla Sharks players turned up with the NRL premiership trophy and fete stalls provided activities and food for adults and children.
Funds are raised for community groups with a major raffle with proceeds going 100 per cent directly to the organisations selling the tickets, first prize are tickets to Los Angeles, donated by Qantas.
