The World Club Water Polo Challenge is back in Australia and it has found a new home at the Sutherland Leisure Centre.

This is the third time Australia has held this tournament and it will run from December 27-30.

International Teams competing this year will be travelling from the US, China, Japan, Germany, Singapore, Turkey and Australia with teams consisting of six field players and one goalkeeper in the pool, with a maximum of 13 players per team.

The hosts are Sutherland Sharks Waterpolo team and they will use this tournament as a warm up for the upcoming National League season.

Led by captain Patrick Falson, Rio Olympian Joseph Kayes, Nick Willett, Nick Brooks, Chris Batty and new Japanese import Daichi Ezaki the Sharks are coached by Predrag Mihailovic who is also the NSW Institute of Sport Women's coach.

In a new concept for the tournament there will also be a three match series played between the QLD and NSW womens institute of sport teams in a battle of the states.

The tournament lineup will consist of 10 junior boys teams, eight senior mens teams and the two womens state teams.

This tournament is different and played with a carnival atmosphere with food stalls, entertainment, pop up bar and giveaways.
