Police are investigating a two-car crash On Heathcote Road overnight.
About 4pm yesterday emergency services were called to Heathcote Road at Lucas Heights after reports a Citroen C2 and a Ford Falcon had collided.
The driver of the Citroen, a 24-year-old woman, was trapped in the vehicle for a short time before being freed by Fire & Rescue NSW.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
Paramedics also treated the driver of the Ford Falcon, a 31-year-old woman and her two passengers, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy at the scene for minor injuries.
All three were taken to Liverpool Hospital; the children were later transferred to Westmead Children’s Hospital.

Drivers should avoid Heathcote Road at Sandy Point after a two-car accident.
Emergency services were called to the road, near St George Crescent, just after 4pm.
The crash has closed the road in both directions causing significant delays.
Drivers should instead use Alfords Point Road.
