A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after he was stopped riding a quad bike without a helmet in Sutherland on Saturday.
About 9.30am Sutherland police stopped a man riding a quad bike with a pillion passenger along Jannali Avenue.
Police said both men were not wearing helmets.
The men were stopped and spoken to by police, before the rider, a 25-year-old man, was subjected to a roadside breath-test which returned a positive result.
The rider was arrested and taken to Sutherland police station where he returned a reading of 0.177.
He was issued a court attendance notice for driving with high-range PCA, using an unregistered vehicle, using an uninsured vehicle, using a vehicle on a road with tax not paid, and rider without a helmet riding with a passenger without a helmet.
The man’s driver’s licence was suspended on the spot and he will appear at Sutherland Local Court on January 19.
