Sants will swap his sleigh for a boat when he visits Woronora on Christmas Day.
He will be a special guest at the Woronora Rural Fire Service brigades annual Santa Run which has been going for decades.
Captain Mitch Giles was involved in one of the first runs around 35 years ago.
‘’The first runs were immensely popular and there seemed to be a large number of kids, particularly in the upper end of the river, who used to swim out to meet Santa,’’ he said.
‘’It was started to build community engagement and fundraising as there was a considerable need to build new vessels to service the growing community in Woronora.’’
Runs begin on December 10 and will continue until Christmas Day.
Details are on each brigade's Facebook page.
