Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a single jet ski incident on the Georges River.
About 11.30am on Sunday, emergency services were called to Georges River, Illawong, following reports a jet ski had lost control and flipped.
A 43-year-old man, who was thrown from the vessel, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics in the water before being airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital with spinal injuries, where he will undergo surgery.
Officers attached to Marine Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
