Marton Public School’s Henri Hiles-Fraser has won a national title as the fastest 200m runner in Australia for his age group.
The School Sport Australia Track and Field Championships were held at Sydney’s Olympic Park recently for children aged 10-12. The young athletes had to qualify to attend the championships, reserved for the best in the country.
About 600 children took part in the track and field event.
Henri, 11, qualified for the 200m final and ran 25.73sec to claim gold in the 11-year boys division. He also finished third in the 100m final for the same age group.
Marton Public School’s Caylah Lumb finished fourth for her age group in high jump.
