Caringbah beauty therapist Rochelle Humphreys from Sydney TAFE recently won the silver medal, at the 2016 Worldskills Australia National Competition in Beauty Therapy.
Humphreys won the Sydney regional competition in 2015 which entitled her to participate in this year’s national competition.
The national three-day event was held in Melbourne from October 6-8.
Worldskills Australia has been around for 35 years and is often referred to as the Skills Olympics for TAFE.
Humphreys excelled during three days of competition and was required to demonstrate her skills in manicure, pedicure, creative nail art, facial and body treatments and a masquerade – themed makeup.
She was mentored by Vanessa Kemister, Beauty Therapy teacher from Sydney TAFE and received assistance from other specialist TAFE teachers as well.
After completing her Diploma at Sydney TAFE, Rochelle was employed by Georgena Wight of Pure Harmony Medispa in Cronulla,
