Sylvania Public School has taken out the $5000 top prize following a competition organised at Southgate Shopping Centre.
Shoppers could support their school by shopping at any participating retailer at the shopping centre, before voting on which school they wanted to win $5000. Six schools took part.
Sylvania Public School, with a total of 125 students, finished first winning the $5000. Representatives from the school claimed the cheque last week.
The money will go towards new educational resources such as library books, sports equipment, and new technology for students.
Sylvania Heights Public School came second, winning $2500, and Kareela Public School came third winning $1000. Fourth, fifth and sixth place (Gymea North, Taren Point, and Gymea Bay) each won $500.
