Transformation of the former McDonald’s site at Cronulla will be completed this weekend with the opening of Souvlaki Bar.
The Greek eatery, located at the end of the mall beneath Cronulla Cinemas, will open its doors to customers at 10am on Sunday.
Cronulla MP and Environment Minister Mark Speakman will cut a ribbon to officially open it at 1pm that day.
Various food promotions have been organised, and Greek music will be playing from midday.
Souvlaki Bar joins Seaside Dumplings in filling the premises, which were vacant for more than a year after the sudden closure of McDonald’s.
The restaurants add another chapter to the rich history of the heritage listed Cronulla Cinemas building.
It is the second Souvlaki Bar, the first being at Brighton-Le-sands.
