Christmas came early at last weekend’s North Cronulla annual surf carnival when their Under 23 men's boat crew were selected to represent Australia.
The carnival was well supported by all four local clubs and other Sydney branch clubs with more than 200 competitors.
There were a record number of boat crews with 117 entries, the largest carnival for boats this year which doubled as an Australian selection meet.
Wanda took the points in the Steve Warren Cup over hosts Nth Cronulla helped by a six place clean sweep in the U15 women’s surf race and first and second place in the open Taplin relay.
William Budd from Nth Cronulla won both the open men’s board and iron man races.
