The Cronulla Sharks Water polo club’s junior men’s team showed up their big brothers by taking out the Junior Plate final at the World Club Waterpolo Challenge over rivals the Balmain Tigers today at Sutherland Aquatic centre.
International Teams competing had travelled from the US, China, Japan, Germany, Singapore, Turkey and Australia with teams consisting of six field players and one goalkeeper in the pool, with a maximum of 13 players per team.
The Sharks men's open team also fought off the Balmain Tigers for fifth and sixth position,with the Olympic club San Francisco playing Bourbon Kashiwazaki Japan in the men's gold medal match.
The junior Sharks had plenty of firepower with the sons of three Cronulla olympians playing, with plenty of backup from their team mates-Daniel Kerr,Euan Stockwell and Matthew Oberman all put in with Daniel Kerr scoring 5 goals in the 10-3 point victory over the Tigers.
