A man has been charged with firearm offences after a car was stopped at Brighton-Le Sands on Friday.
About 2.10pm police from the Middle Eastern Organised Crime Squad stopped a white Toyota Corolla on Queen Road.
After speaking to the male driver, 26, officers searched him and the car.
During the search, police found a shortened .22 calibre bolt action rifle.
The driver was charged with possession of a shortened firearm, not keeping a firearm safely-not prohibited firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm-not prohibited firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm in public place and possession of an unauthorised prohibited firearm.
