Well there is good news, with a new way of finding players to play with and against about to launch in St George and Sutherland Shire.
Oz Tennis Leagues create social leagues for people to meet and play singles tennis.
The online platform provides a different way for people to play without the need to commit and sign up to a tennis club membership. New players sign up for a season of ten weeks where they get placed into a division based on their ability.
Found and tennis coach Tom Lyons said it was known people wanted to play singles tennis but found it hard finding people to have a hit with.
“The leagues are competitive but they’re designed as friendly leagues for local people to play other local people,” he said.
"Beginners, or those who haven’t played in a while will find themselves playing other players of a similar standard... players who have more experience will naturally be placed in higher divisions ensuring a good quality experience.”
Oz Tennis Leagues starts its summer season in St George and Sutherland Shire on January 30.
