Re the article ‘‘Station asbestos cover-up’’ (Leader, January 18).
It’s not just the state rail users. It’s directly across the road from Waratah Street long day care centre and the children’s play area faces this nightmare.
My son went to Waratah St for three years. If he shows any signs of illness due to asbestos I will not hesitate to start a class action law suit against State Rail for all affected Cronulla residents.
That land is where all the school children have waited for their buses in the afternoon.

Plenty of communication asbestos pits around Sydney – we walk over them everyday.
Not concerned about the cover but the surround. I have one outside my premises.The pit is broken on the edges. They threw new lid on it but asbestos pit still exposed.

A friend died because his father worked for Hardys and clothing was laundered in the family washing machine.

You only have to look at most of the public schools around the South Caringbah and Cronulla areas that our kids go to.
The schools are constantly covering up the issue about the asbestos problems. When your kids go back to school just ask the principals about this topic and see how you get the runaround.
