If you’ve headed down to St George Hospital in the past week, chances are you might have bumped into one of the new volunteers Joshua Feeney, Ethan Davidson or Jake Watson.
The three school leavers, from the Sutherland Shire, are part of a program helping young people living with a disability into employment.
The three young men have recently taken on volunteer positions at St George Hospital, helping community members and visitors find their way around the hospital during the redevelopment disruptions.
The trio are part of a transition to work program, helping them get ready for paid employment. The program runs for two years and teaches the participants plenty of life skills needed for employment.
St George Hospital has partnered with the program and hopes to have more young adult volunteers join them in the future.
Joshua, Ethan and Jake currently volunteer two days a week at the hospital, from 9.30am to 2.30pm.
