Customers at Kirrawee’s new hotel The Prince have developed a taste for tank beer.
The Feros Hotel Group said 2000 litres of the fresh, unpasteurised Carlton Draught product were sold in the week after the hotel opened on February 6.
A spokesman said it had been “a huge success”.
Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) said demand had “surpassed all expectations”.
“Four tanks were sold in the first week,” a spokesman said.
It was one of the most successful launches we have seen.

“It was one of the most successful launches we have seen.”
The spokesman said, in view of the demand, the company was “working with the venue to increase capacity”.
“Unlike normal kegs of beer, we don’t store large amounts in the warehouse,” he said.
”The stock is transported from the brewery to ensure the freshest Carlton Draught”.
Chief executive of the Feros Hotel Group, Chris Feros, said The Prince was the only hotel in the shire to have tank beer.
CUB, which launched tank beer in 2014, says “unpasteurised beer is the purist's beer” and “unlike other beers, it is not heated to 70 degrees during the brewing process”.
