Workshops give advice to migrants
New migrants will learn life and social skills through a series of up-coming workshops at the Rockdale Library.
The workshops are a joint project between Bayside Council and Advance Diversity Services (ADS). Many new migrants have expressed their interest to learn English, which helps with their day-to-day life in Australia. Previous sessions have been well-received by 14 to 15 newly arrived migrants from countries such as Egypt, Lebanon and Syria.
The workshops are designed to build a person’s confidence in dealing with daily life experiences through demonstrations, dialogues and role plays.
- Topics of upcoming sessions are:
- Thursday, February 23, 12.30pm to 2.30pm – Social settings and cultures
- Thursday, March 2 12.30pm to 2.30pm, Shopping
