A man has allegedly used a homemade stun gun on a woman during an argument in an inner west pub.
Con Hatzisavvas, 21, was drinking at the Gladstone Hotel in Dulwich Hill on Saturday night when a fight broke out about 10pm.
It's alleged he punched the 21-year-old woman in the head then pulled out the homemade device and stunned her three times.
Police initially thought the woman was his partner but it's now believed she is a friend or relative.
Mr Hatzisavvas' fiancee said on Sunday afternoon that she didn't know about the incident.
Other pub-goers went to the woman's aid while police were called.
The homemade stun gun, also described as a conducted electrical weapon, was seized nearby.
The 21-year-old man was allegedly abusive when he was taken back to Marrickville police station.
He has been charged with possession or use of a prohibited weapon without permit, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and possessing a prescribed restricted substance.
He was refused bail in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
He will reappear in Newtown Local Court on March 2.
