Sydney FC have won the A-League Premier’s Plate, creating history along the way by surpassing the A-League points record for a 10-team competition following their 3-0 win over Perth Glory.
The Sky Blues moved to 59 points, two ahead of the record set by Western Sydney Wanderers in 2012-13 with three games still to play.
Brisbane Roar’s record of 65 points in an 11-team competition is the next milestone ahead of the premiers-elect, who face Melbourne City at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.
Sydney FC have also equalled the record for the most clean sheets in an A-League season (14) and could extend that number with three games to go.
