Re the article “Parking fees to be cut” (Leader, March 29).
This is great for these families but what about the staff?
The primary caregivers!
Who have to drive around multiple times to find a spot and if that be blocks away.
And get fined on top of that and get to work late -and walk in the dark to get back to the car.
Because private car parks are to capacity and to wait for a parking pass is up to minimum five-year wait and simply not enough parking.

I live three streets away from the hospital. Everyday poor nurses are trooping past the stadium for parking at all hours of the day. Find them safe parking or provide a shuttle.

Three trips to St George last week, about eight hours of parking. I might be able to use the car park if prices are reduced.

They need to do more around Kogarah and Sutherland.
Kogarah has a terrible chase game - the rangers play with shoppers and motorists and it is just crazy revenue raising.
Georges River Council is a disgrace.

One of our daughters recently spent 4 nights in the kids ward, a nurse gave me a form to fill in then got her manager to sign it and I only paid $16.

The typical result of outsourcing parking for hospitals into the private sector. Public Hospitals should be funded and constructed with sufficient parking for staff and patients so private enterprise is not involved in the supply of parking for the facility into the future. That way ongoing costs for the hospital to subsidise parking for staff and patients would no longer be an issue.

Should be all hospitals free parking, come on people are not there for fun, a lot lose their friends and family there and you get enough money from other things in life like tolls, GST, gas, electricity etc etc

This is another example of people power and common sense prevailing. Sign those petitions, they work.

This is great news! Every winter when the ladies from our Lamrock Committee sit in the foyer of the hospital trying to sell our raffle tickets to raise money to buy equipment for the hospital we hear so many complaints about the high cost of parking.
