A member of the Oatley 101 Society of Artists has been recognised in this years Sydney Royal Easter show.
Christine Seale received the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW award for best rural subject painted in a traditional style.
The winning artwork was a Study of the Bush.
She said it follows a style she’s used since the early 90s.
‘’I just love playing with the paint to create textures, so I use things like cling wrap, old credit cards, sticks and even paint brushes to achieve my goal,’’ she said.
‘’The winning artwork was an oil on canvas. However, I do paint in acrylic, pastel and a little in water colour and love to draw with charcoal.’’
She started painting as a teenager and has previously won awards at the Parramatta show.
The Kurrajong resident will be among 45 other artists who will lead workshops as part of the Art in Action weekend from May 19-21.
