The Australian and New Zealand national anthems rang out across Riverwood during the early hours this morning, as part of the Anzac Day dawn service.

A couple of hundred people rose early to attend the dawn service at Club Rivers – Riverwood Legion and Community Club.
Club representatives and guest speaker Jarrod Booker, from Riverwood and Punchbowl Anglican Church, shared messages to commemorate Anzac Day while the Sing Australia St George choir led the crowd in a few songs.
The national anthems of both countries was played and The Last Post also featured during the ceremony.
“We think of not only those that have fallen but of all our men and women around the world right now who are serving, and our thoughts and prayers are with them,” a club representative said, during the ceremony.
Wreaths were also laid alongside the mural next to the club.
A section of the well-known poem For the Fallen was also read during the ceremony before The Last Post was played.
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old,” a club representative read.
“Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
“At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them."
The Anzac Day programme at Club Rivers – Riverwood Legion and Community Club also included a march, memorial service and lunch today.
