Traffic could be disrupted by work at five busy intersections on the Princes Highway between Kirrawee and Rockdale over the next two months.
The work at three of the locations involves investigations for the state government’s $300 million Gateway to the South Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce traffic delays, ease congestion and improve travel times.
The intersections are :
- Princes Highway and Port Hacking Road, Sylvania, between Pembroke Street and Florida Street.
- Princes Highway and The Boulevarde, Gymea, between Milburn Road and Garnet Road.
- Gray Street / Gray Avenue and the intersection of Rocky Point Road and Marshall Street, Kogarah.
Miranda MP Eleni Petinos said the work by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) would include surveying overhead utilities, establishing ground conditions, locating underground utilities and cleaning drains.
Ms Petinos said the intersections would be affected from Sunday, May 7, until Sunday July 2, with some weekday work between 7am and 6pm, and 16 night time shifts from 8pm to 5am, Sunday to Friday.
RMS also announced night time maintenance work at two other intersections:
- Princes Highway and Park Road at Kogarah Bay, Carlton.
- Princes Bay Street, Rockdale.
Work will take from 8pm to 5am Sunday to Friday between Friday, May 5, and Sunday, June 11.
