The life of the Bronte sisters will be the focus of an author talk at Rockdale Library this month.
The talk - Medical Mishaps and Maladies in the Brontës’ Lives and Novels – is presented by writer and palliative care doctor Vasudha Chandra.
Dr Chandra will explore the health of the Brontë sisters, speculating on the diseases and disorders of the fictional characters the sisters created, and discuss treatments used at the time.
Bayside Council Administrator Greg Wright encouraged people to take part in the unique event.
“We are delighted to have Dr Vasudha Chandra present this free talk. Dr Chandra is a member of, and has been a presenter for, the Australian Brontë Association and the Jane Austen Society of Australia,” he said.
