Children living with a disability who enjoy a trip to the pool have been shown support with a $40,000 grant.
Every weekend, Sydney’s Rainbow Club provide swimming lessons for hundreds of children, using 17 pools across NSW. These pools include Starting Block Swimming Centre in Miranda and the Sutherland Leisure Centre.
Lessons are provided to families who have children living with a disability. The St George Foundation has given Rainbow Club a $40,000 grant to help support families using the club.
“All children deserve swimming lessons, but the one-on-one lessons required for children living with a disability are much more expensive for families to access,” St George Foundation head Vanessa Barry said.
“This funding will directly assist 75 families who were at risk of having to withdraw their membership.”
