Vinnies newest shop has now opened in Gymea shopping centre.
The new store at Shop 83 Gymea Bay Road will replace the existing Miranda shop.
On offer is a range of quality second-hand clothing for women, men and children, as well as accessories, homewares, bric-a-brac, books, toys and other household items.
Each week for the first two weeks there will be a lucky draw of gift basket for all those who spend or donate more than $20 in store.
George Blakeley, retail operations manager of the St Vincent de Paul Society Sydney Archdiocese, is very pleased to be opening another shop in the Sutherland Shire.
He said he looks forward to meeting the locals when they visit the new shop, especially those who have loyally supported the Miranda store.
“Vinnies relies heavily on funds generated by our shops to provide services for people in local communities across Sydney who are experiencing disadvantage,” Mr Blakeley said.
“Our customers can be assured that by shopping with us, they are supporting Sydney Vinnies services such as our Community Support Centres and local refuges.
“We also provided over $3 million worth of assistance to the local community, assisting over 31,000 people.”
The new Gymea Vinnies Shop is also looking for volunteers, so anyone with an interest in Vinnies and retail should enquire at the shop about our volunteering opportunities.
Vinnies Gymea welcomes customers and donations of good quality items from Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5pm, Thursday 9am to 5.30pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10am to 4pm.
