Vision Australia has recognised its volunteers serving the blind community in the Sutherland Shire.
Vision Australia’s Caringbah office hosted a special celebration on Wednesday to acknowledge the contribution made by volunteers in the past 12 months.
Volunteers received pins for either one, three or five years of service.
Co-ordinator of volunteers Lyn Curtis said it was a good celebration.
“Our volunteers are just some of the many amazing people who make what Vision Australia does possible.
“Without their contribution we wouldn’t be able to give our clients the level of support they deserve,” Mrs Curtis said.
“Whether it be assisting with administration tasks, supporting clients with transport and home visits or providing clients with audio description services, book clubs, walking group or men’s groups, our volunteers play a vital role in supporting our clients to live the life they choose.”
