Sutherland recorded their second victory in their last three games with a dramatic 2-1 win over Manly United at Cromer Park on Sunday.
The Sharks appear to be improving under new coach Grant Lee as they managed to come from behind to earn another valuable three points.
Sutherland trailed to a Brendan Cholakian strike after 25 minutes before they hit back through Nathan Elasi as the Sharks hit Manly on the break just after the hour mark.
Japanese import Tomohiro Kajiyama then had Sutherland in front 10 minutes later with his ninth goal of the campaign. The Sharks held on through some outstanding defending, led by Nick Littler.
"We are finally starting to take our chances,'' Littler said.
"I thought we showed some good character to come from a goal down.
"In the first half we battled well and then after the break we scored two goals, so job done."
Sutherland host high-flying Blacktown City at Seymour Shaw Park on Saturday night.
Elsewhere, goals to Brayden Sorge and Aleksander Canak saw Rockdale City end a three-game losing streak to down Sydney FC 2-0.
The Suns face a tough away trip to take on Sydney United 58 on Sunday.
