Young children at Angels of Alfred St Childcare will attempt dance moves like the worm, the twist and the funky chicken come Red Nose Day.
Red Nose Day is being held on Friday, June 30 to raise money and awareness for a charity called Red Nose.
Red Nose runs support services and helps fund research into sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).
Childcare centres across NSW will be hosting a disco in support of Red Nose Day next week. Angels of Alfred St Childcare in Sans Souci hosted a disco last year and are doing the same again next week while raising money for the charity.
Angels of Alfred St Childcare education leader Stephanie Korlevska said the children were asked to bring in a gold coin and they would hold a disco for about an hour. She said Red Nose send out a pack which includes a spinning wheel with different dance moves.
“You spin the arrow and whatever dance move that it lands on, that is what we encourage them to do,” she said. “Some of the dance moves include the the worm, the funky chicken, the bunny hop, and the twist.”
The children will also wear red noses.
Annually, 3200 Australian families experience the sudden and unexpected death of a baby or child.
