Kogarah musician Spencer Jones has been eliminated from The Voice after making it to the final eight.
Eight singers fought for just four remaining spots in the competition, with two elimination rounds over the three-hour episode on Sunday night.
Taking to the stage he covered a U2 classic One.
Despite the rendition gaining praise from the crowd and the four judges he was eliminated from the competition in the first round along with Rennie Adams.
Spencer spoke briefly after his elimination to thank his family for their support.
‘’It’s all good,’’ he said.
‘’Kelly has been wonderful, all the coaches have been wonderful. The show has taught me so much.
‘’I ended on a high note so thanks everyone in the room.’’
He said taking part was the best thing he had ever done.
“It’s made me push through some of the fear and anxiety I had. It’s been empowering; the best thing I’ve ever done,’’ he said.
“It made me realise you have to put yourself out there and reap the rewards.’’
He’s already making the most of his newfound confidence by recording some original music.
