Earlier
There is huge disruption for passengers on the Illawarra line this morning as a result of a broken rail line at Oatley.
Trains are being cancelled and passengers transferred between platforms at Sutherland.
An announcement at Sutherland station said the track at Oatley was broken due to the weather.
Other announcements referred to the broken line being “just before Como”.
Changes were being made at short notice and staff were saying there was no guarantee when the next train would arrive.
Sydney Trains said: “Customers travelling on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line are advised to allow additional travel time due to urgent track equipment repairs at Oatley.
“Customers should also check indicator boards and listen to announcements before boarding your service as stopping patterns and platform changes may occur at short notice.”
