St George residents bewildered the full potential by their new smart phone or laptop now have the opportunity to be brought up to speed by the experts - the students of James Cook Technology High School.
The school is offering a two sessions in August where residents have the chance for individual technology training with the students.
Know Your Gizmos – Get the Most out of your Technology is an innovative partnership between Kogarah Community Services and James Cook Technology High School which will allow residents to unlock all the secrets of their smartphones, tablets or laptops in a relaxed and friendly classroom setting.
Kogarah Community Services community development worker, Cathy Nisbet said, “Technology is a wonderful tool to connect with family and friends whilst also providing opportunities to access limitless information.
“However, each new gadget and gizmo comes with its own idiosyncrasies, and “Know Your Gizmos” will provide you personalised help to use your technology to its full capacity.”
During the two week program participants can bring along your tablet, smart phone or laptop or any Gizmo you want to use to its full capacity.
There will also be laptops onsite available to use.
Sessions will include a presentation, 45 minute tutoring with volunteer students from the high school.
Residents can attend one or both sessions.
The sessions will be held Thursday, August 3 and Thursday, August 10.
The cost per session is $10 which includes morning tea and transport from Kogarah Community Services.
