A man, who escaped from Miranda Police Station following his arrest over an alleged break and enter, has been arrested at a house in Sydney’s west.
Strike Force Walpa, comprising officers from Miranda, Canobolas, Chifley and St Marys local area commands, was set up to track down the man, who escaped from custody on July 16.
The escapee, 31, was arrested at a house in Albert Street, Werrington, on Friday afternoon and taken to Penrith Police Station
He was charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, three counts of break, enter and steal, escape police custody, possess house breaking implements, assault police, resist arrest, custody of knife in public place and the revocation of parole warrant
The man was refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
An internal investigation is being conducted into the events leading up to the man's escape.
