The Sutherland Sharks scored just their third win of the season on Sunday, downing Manly Warringah 79-67 to climb off the bottom of the men’s Waratah Championship ladder.
The Sharks were beaten 99-81 by Maitland on Saturday in the first leg of their weekend double header.
Sutherland face the Sydney Comets in their final men’s and women’s Waratah Championship clashes of the season at Alexandria on Saturday night.
Meanwhile in men’s division one, St George secured fifth place in the final game of the season after downing Manly 87-62.
Sutherland finished sixth after beating Shoalhaven 79-77.
St George will take on Hills Hornets in their quarter-final on the weekend of August 5 and 6. Sutherland will face Tamworth.
