The Ettingshausens Martial Arts club had 11 state representatives at the Australian Karate Federation national championships earlier this month.
Held at the Whitlam Centre in Liverpool, the championships played host to participants from across Australia in a competition recognised by the Australian Olympic Committee.
Ettingshausens member, 12-year-old Maya Gribble, won gold in the female children Kumite as well as bronze in the Team Kata Children (synchronised patterns) event.
In the male division, 16-year-old Rory Attridge won gold in the NSW Cadet Team Kumite and an individual silver in the male Cadet Kumite.
Ettingshausens Martial Arts members Georgia Gallagher, Robbie Zarb and Kiri Ronay Sundin all picked up bronze medals at the championships.
The martial arts organisation is based at Kirrawee and is led by the head of the martial arts division, Michael Ettingshausen.
Ettingshausen was a member of the JKA Australian team from 1992 until 2006, representing Australia at eight World Championships. He is also a seven-time JKA Australian national champion.
