Menai High School has created an escape room as part of National Science Week.
The school was one of 280 schools across the country awarded with a National Science Week grant for 2017. The grants help schools run activities and events during the week and are supported by the Australian Science Teachers Association and Australian Government.
Students will get the chance to use the escape room all week – as they hunt for clues, unlock treasure chests, use microscopes and UV lights to break codes, and race the clock to break out of the room.
The room has been designed for teams of six to eight students to work together.
First held in 1997, National Science Week is well supported in Australia. Last year saw a staggering 1.3 million people participate in over 1800 events and activities.
National Science Week 2017 will run from August 12 to 20. More events can be found here.
